The Europa Cup is a single-brand championship contested on European circuits as a introduction to the Formula 1 Grand Prix. After the Renault 5 Turbo, the Alpine GTA takes the place of the Renault 5 Turbo on the starting grid in 1985. The Alpine GTA stayed for four seasons before being replaced by the R21 2.0 Turbo. Here, the car is driven by Joël Gouhier, who has already competed on circuits in various promotional formulas (Formula Renault, R5 and Alpine Cup...).
