In the 1990s, the "second division" of the World Rally Championship was composed of two-wheel drive cars with a 2L engine. These cars were known as "Kit Cars". They were part of the rallying folklore of the 90s and are still unforgettable thanks to their atypical sound. The 306, Clio and Mégane Maxi are well known, but there are many other models in the category. Before the Xsara Kitcar, Citroën entered the discipline with the ZX! Although it became a legend on the Dakar, the Kit Car version of the ZX struggled to convince on the rally stages. Perhaps it is only in Spain that this Citroën manages to seduce and leave its mark.
